The breeding philosophy at Tamiami Collies is simple - it comes down to a way of thinking. It derives from a deep knowledge of the breed and is built on a set of standards, ideals and beliefs. 

 

That means that our dogs are bred for health, character, ability, structure, livability, temperament and personality. These characteristics are considered in every breeding in order to preserve what the ideal Collie means to us. Further, we emphasize genetics in our breeding program and socialization and training once the puppies are whelped. We also believe that producing the best Collies is as important as placing them in the right homes.
