Tamiami Collies is named for the road that connects Tampa and Miami. The Tamiami Trail connects the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Everglades National Park. We moved from Tampa to Miami so the name seemed fitting.

We started with Collies in 1998 with our first smooth Collie named Colleen. She was our performance dog who finished her AX and AXJ titles in agility. From that point on we knew that Collies were for us.

In 2011, after coming from the agility world we got our first show quality puppy and threw ourselves into the sport of conformation. We have since had three beautiful litters (Tamiami Collies is planning for two litters in 2022, the first in Spring). Our mission is generating healthy (with full tested parents) and well socialized puppies. At present all of our breeding stock have excellent hips, normal elbows and have gone through Optimal Selection. The eye exams are "go normal" or "slightly affected" (which is normal range for collies).

In 2020 we were excited to learn that we had been named 2019 Breeder of the Year, Runner Up, Smooth Collies. We are an American Kennel Club Breeder of Merit. And, we are members of the Good Dog, Collie Health Foundation, the Collie Club of America and the Tampa Bay Collie Club.
